What Parents Should Prioritise When Choosing a Senior Secondary School

Things to consider regarding the senior secondary school choice.

Because it is the last stage of formal education, the senior secondary stage must be evaluated more thoroughly than other stages, and parents and their children must evaluate three “pillars” that are critical to success in senior secondary: Faculty Expertise, Subject Combinations or Options and “Fit.”

Faculty Expertise. At the senior or “Plus Two” stage of education, the depth of knowledge in each subject is critical to success, therefore it is important for teachers to have knowledge of all the topics they teach, especially in subjects such as Calculus, Organic Chemistry & Macroeconomics. Teachers who have a clear understanding of their subject areas and can present difficult concepts in a way that is easy to understand will help students achieve significantly better outcomes.

Subject Combinations or Options. Not all schools offer similar subjects or combinations of subjects, particularly with respect to the NEP. There are a few schools, such as MRG SCHOOL and DPS ROHINI, which offer their students the opportunity to choose courses like Psychology, Legal Studies, Informatic Practices and others related to the NEP.

The “Fit” Factor. Some students thrive in high-pressure, competitive environments such as DPS, whereas others thrive in an environment that is more balanced and less competitive (examples being MRG School and similar progressive schools). Whether a student is in a proper environment for his/her needs is a determining factor for many students’ long-term success.

Why Rohini Is Preferred for Senior Secondary Education

Rohini combines a good school environment with safe and secure facilities in proximity (no trains involved), giving families the option of having more than one good school. This is an opportunity for families to select the best option for their children while still being assured that their children will continue to excel. The schools produce impressively consistent board results and employ experienced teachers who continually change their methodology of teaching. This has allowed Rohini to become one of the most dependable areas in Delhi with respect to education for students in Classes XI and XII.
